I was a member when the switch happened. The classes, training, and quality of equiptment all tanked. Never going back. It is a money grab, think Chuckie Cheese standards of cleanliness and instructors, at high end prices.

Well played. It’s really bizarre that people are taking this stance. Your kid will have fun.

This is not where you want to send your kid.

Yikes! Thanks for posting this, I had no idea.

That Little Gym is gone. It was sold to a private equity company that has pulverized its core values. You would not recognize the new version.

How so? What’s different for customers?

Not the PP but here is a gift link to the article. LG is owned by private equity now and is bullying the franchisees.

Hard pass. It is the McDonald's of kid programs now.

I would boycott and go somewhere that does not make the news. You do you but there are better options out there. MyGym, Gymboree, Silver Stars gymnastics, all better. The privately owned ones won't treat your kid like a number. The new LG will. It is what happened to all of them when ownership flipped to private equity.

I'm not subscribing to the NY Times just to read your article that may (or may not, like another pp suggests) prove your accusation.
Stop being cryptic and just say what your beef is with Little Gym.

I read this article and while I feel for the franchise owners, this has zero to do with people choosing to patronize the business. The way you talked I figured there was something like abuse cover-up. Holding my credit card payment for an extra couple of days is hardly an ethics issue, let alone a reason to mass boycott.

Look into the ethics issues with the new holding company before signing up. MyGym is a much better product now. This is not the Little Gym Franchise of years past.

I saw a sign for a Little Gym opening near the Target/Trader Joe’s off Wisconsin. Does anyone have any idea when it might open?
