Just make a donation in his name. Be happy he is decluttering.

Goodwill is mostly in the business of throwing things away. I’m sure they deal with dumping all the time and probably won’t do anything.

You could make a donation if you feel bad.

I’d be too worried to get caught, but I’m very resentful of having to pay a fee to dispose of something that no longer works, but was and is legal and normal to own. It was such a pain getting ridding our old thermostat. Same with paint cans.

If governments want things disposed of properly, why don’t they make it easier? It should be free, and with regular opportunities.

Local news station in my area has run stories on this complete with security footage to call out the bad behavior. It costs Goodwill money to dispose of thosr. Rude of him. I'd tell him he may be outted just to teach him a lesson.

No, but they should. What he did is awful -- didn't want to pay the disposal fee so he tasks a charity with it? POS person.

I don't think Goodwill has the time to deal with people who drop off things they don't want to handle.

Now goodwill has to pay money because your dad didn’t want to. Nice.

Yes. Apparently they have a twice year free event, otherwise there is a per pound fee, but he missed the window and didn’t want to wait for the next.

I mean, then he kind of deserves it if they do report him.

Called my dad for our weekly chat. He explained how on Friday he attempted to throw away his small cache of old tube TVs but they wouldn’t take them, so he tried Goodwill but they told him they don’t accept them. He went on to tell me he didn’t know what to do so he went back to Goodwill later that night after dark and just left them near the donation bins. I’m sure his license plate is on camera. Will they come after him for illegal dumping?
