Are you checking luggage? Then absolutely not.

If they are in different terminals? Absolutely not.

If everything goes absolutely perfectly you might make it. But it's a risk. I try to have at least 1:15 for a connnection in O'Hare.

In my experience, I am almost always delayed/become worryingly close to missing my connecting flight when I have a layover, and have a seamless traveling experience when I have, say, a 3-hour layover. In any case, the shortest layover should be an hour tops, and 1.5 hours at O’Hare.

They wouldn't go through security. All the AA gate areas are connected behind security at ORD. Might be different concourses, but all in the same terminal (3). Farthest walk would be 10-15 minutes depending on how fast you walked.

Nope

Yes - gates will be next/near to each other. You’ll be fine - if you miss your connection (which happens when the AZO leg can’t get a gate) you can get on the next AA flight.

No.

My DH manages it, but only for work travel when he knows his travel people can fix whatever goes wrong. Half of the time that it works it only works because his next flight is delayed and he’s on larger planes so he’s up front in business class.

He is totally willing to run through the airport and sweat through his shirt, but I prefer a bathroom break and a stop for Garrett’s.

If you sprint and your flight isn't late, mayyyybe. O'Hare especially if United is notorious for having to change terminals and they are a mile a apart.

No.

Why would you set yourself up for stress and hassle by planning this short of a connection??

Obviously not, minor delays are common and a long delay can obviously happen too. It's only fine if you don't care about making your connection.

Ohare is massive and weird, and had the worst security lines I have personally ever experienced aside from ATL.

I would do nothing less than a 2-hr layover at ORD.

Absolutely not. My family is in Chicago, and I can’t tell you the number of times we’ve gotten held up waiting for a gate to clear. Don’t do it. 45 minutes is insane.

Flying from AZO (Kalamazoo MI) to DCA with a layover in ORD, Connection Time on app says 46 minutes, is that enough time? Pretty sure different terminals, flying American.
