Not sure if this helps at all? But we noticed with my kids that they'd have more incidents of bedwetting right before (or during) hitting a growth spurt.

I'm no doctor, but it was almost as if their bladder was having to 'catch up' with everything else.

I had a cousin who had trouble with bedwetting growing up. Some kids don’t outgrow it until they start puberty. Sometimes it can even be hereditary.

Could he be tired with activities or school? My kid had more nighttime accidents when school started. It stopped when he got settled at school and with activities.

I babysat for an almost 8 year old who still had diapers for night. I tried to have him be as independent as possible with it so I didn’t make him feel like a baby when he got it on. He wasn’t special needs, just had some trouble with accidents at night. I’d check on him after he was asleep and I could tell most of the time he was already wet.

Chiming in that i have a 7 year old still wearing nighttime underwear. We have to remind him, but he puts them on right before bed and switches them out for regular underwear right after waking up.

We went on vacation last month and just out of an abundance of caution mine did wear pull-ups for bedtime. They only have an occasional accident at home but I didn’t want to chance having it happen at the hotel we were staying at.

My kid was a bedwetter and turned out to be diabetic. Very low probability (obviously), but just something to keep in mind

My son is 7 and still wears pull-ups at night. But we didn't switch 'back' to them necessarily. He's just been wearing them pretty much since daytime potty training. So unfortunately no advice there. We hardly give it much thought these days, its so much a part of his bedtime routine and he's independent with it that I don't really have much to do with it unless the odd leaks happens. Other than that, we just make sure to buy them every month or so.

Make sure your kid isn't constipated, OP. Sometimes constipation can put pressure on the bladder and cause bedwetting.

How old is your kid OP? And how long were they consistently dry for before this regression?
My DD was a late bedwetter (8) we did the alarm ( huge disaster) limited liquids, dream pee at midnight…. Nothing worked except time.

Why? Was she having accidents?

My 11 year old never stop wearing them, told him he can stop wearing them if he’s dry for 7 nights. (only time we it’s when we ran out)

Is he responsible with getting them on right before bed and changing in the morning? How much do you limit what he has to drink before bed?

NP and yes he handles all. My kid is 10. As far as limiting liquids, we have tried everything from “no limits and sleeps with water bottle” to “only one small cup of liquid after 3 pm” with the same result: wet pull-up. If limiting liquids works for you, you frankly don’t have a real problem.

Anyone ever have to switch an elementary kid back to a pull-up or diapers for nighttime? We’ve been dealing with some accidents lately and although we’re certainly going to keep trying I’m wondering if maybe taking a break would help make things easier for everyone. I know some might suggest an alarm but after doing some research I don’t think that’s going to be the solution for now.
