My DS is in Spanish 2a/b this year and it counts as hs credit.

Things shifted a few years ago, but now the MS grade only counts if it raises the overall GPA. Otherwise, they get the credit toward graduation requirements, but not the GPA ding.
So my junior has the As from 7th grade Algebra 1 and French 1 counted in their current 3.97 (unweighted) GPA, but not the Bs and Cs from French 2 and Geometry in their disastrous virtual 8th grade year. But they received the credits for all 4 classes.
Weighting is a different matter, though. I know that Algebra in MS isn’t considered an Honors class, but Geometry in MS is Honors. I'm not sure about MS languages overall, but my kid’s French 1AB and 2AB weren’t weighted.

Honors FL means level 3 and higher. There are no honors vs non honors options per level.
Wut? There's French 5 which is not Honors.

Anonymous wrote:Does anyone know how to tell which classes from MCPS middle school can or will be counted towards high school GPA? My kids are 7th and 8th graders in advanced math and I just learned their grades for advanced math will count towards their high school GPA. How do we know what other classes, if any, count towards the high school GPA?
