Subject: Aviation program at Magruder
Do the Margruder college counselors work with the kids to make sure their apps are ready to go by Aug 1. A lot of the direct admit programs open Aug 1. Many of them are rolling admission and fill up very quickly. One of the issues a lot of students face is that the counselors aren’t 12mo employees so they’re not there during the summer.

I am biased. My daughter is in it.
Positives:
Simulator use.
One field trip a year.
Lots of professional pilots visits.
Other kids in the school sometimes jealous.
Good group of kids with lots of friendships.
Prep for aviation FAA exam at the end of 11th grade.
Drone track and pilot track starting in 11th
Committed teachers
Negatives:
Less than half actually go into aviation careers based on daughters comments
Drone flights restricted. Teachers say more is going to be allowed.
No flying lessons (too expensive, liability, etc.) But simulators are fun and useful for learning
