I hated this book. Tried to read it and just couldn't get into it. Then did the audiobook and all of it was like nails on a chalk board.

I read this book a few years ago, but I liked how the party incident continued to impact characters years later, plus I could picture this event going down in my high school.
If I remember correctly Kelly had started hanging with the cool jocks, and Alix wasn’t cool - it was easy to blame the wealthy awkward white girl for the popular jock’s downfall (who was Black). Again - so high school!
I liked this book - the opening scene in Whole Foods caught on video - also spot on.
I can’t remember how it ended though.

Putting aside the video leak, that was obviously wrong. But re the high school situation with Kelly, why was she wrong to call the police to break up a party at her own house that she didn’t even start, and that was caused by Kelly leaking a private note from her? What else was she supposed to do, let the, trash her house and trespass when she didn’t know these people? I don’t know why Kelly is painted as the good guy as Alix the evil white villain in this book. It really annoys me.
