I didn’t tell the teachers immediately because I wanted honest feedback and if they saw changes. Each time he started a new med over the years, I’d wait a bit and then individually email certain teachers and ask them to let me know if they had any input before our next appointment so I could pass it on to the doctor. Sometimes it might have been a class where he was getting in trouble for talking a lot or not doing work previously. Most teachers would reply.

If they are working I suspect your kid will notice. But yes I think it’s totally normal to reach out to a teacher or two. I think u could also give them on the weekend and see if YOU notice a difference. My kid is less impulsive on meds so that shows.

My son is starting ADHD medication as a middle schooler. We need teacher feedback so that we know when the meds may wear off and figure out dosing from there. If you started meds at this age or older, how did you solicit for teacher feedback? He has a 504 plan and the pediatrician said she thought we go through the administrator of that plan, but I haven't heard back from them and am wondering if I should email each teacher directly.
