I don’t think most people schedule regular private lessons on top of club. That sounds like a lot.
I agree with this. Private coaching is to help a one off thing. You do one or two sessions and then you are good. At club you are doing tons of drills to work on strokes and with time it gets where it needs to be. I would definitely do private lessons if a swimmer's stroke mechanics were off and it could lead to injury. Fix those things quickly.
