She may still be able to wear things from the Growing Years in Kensington. It's a consignment store rather than a thrift store but has always had good stuff. Goes to size 16 for girls.

I found hand-painted wood dominos from when I was in daycare in early 1980s in Soviet Union.

Second this, the Unique near me in Rockville is huge!

I went there, and I find it really trashy. The clothes and shoes are awful. Stick with uptown cheapskate for clothes.

There was an outbreak of bedbugs on new clothing in mainstream stores like Hollister and Madewell in downtown NYC a few years back. Wash all clothes before wearing.

Any thrift store near a college always has a good selection.

If she wants things that are in fashion: Uptown Cheapskate

If she wants to see it all, including vintage, for the best prices around: Unique

We live in a different area, but Plato’s closet is definitely my college age DD’s favorite place. She also likes to hit up Goodwill.

Uptown Cheapskate or Goodwill. My HS kids go to those places.

My 11-going-on-21 year old daughter is dying to "go thrifting" after watching some TikToks. I would not even know where to begin with this. We did go to the last day of the Rent the Runway sample sale in Tysons, which had some good deals, and she was in heaven. She is a girls' size 10/12 and could fit into some women's shirts in XXS or XS.

Does anyone have any ideas of where I could take her? Goodwill? I am looking for cheap items that may or may not ever end up being worn, so not fancy resale stores with Louis Vuitton or DVF.
