I would find it hilarious and would be curious to know how others rated the photos and how DD’s dinner compares to his friends - and I’m also a little competitive and consider myself a decent cook. This might make me want to pay more attention to plating 😄

If this is what a 13 yo is doing I would honestly just celebrate - come on - even if the ratings were horrible!

After he eats you should rate HIM on appetite, dinner conversation, tidiness, chewing with mouth closed, using utensils properly. Leave a scorecard on his plate.

Hilarious and delightful that this is what the group is focused on, but agree he’d find himself cooking once per week in our house. Surely he’s taken some inspiration from the meals that received high ratings?

I'd also have him help make some of these meals so he learns what goes into making a meal. I was super picky and for a few months my parents had me make dinner once a week for everyone. I remember some very weird dinners! but they were good sports about it and I learned to be more appreciative of my mom's time since she was ALWAYS late with dinner and my dad couldn't cook much.

We just found out DS13 is taking the pics he takes of his dinner plate each night, and posting it in a huge group chat with other boys, and they write what the meal is, and rate it for taste. They all comment on each others' plates, and give ratings based on presentation. Obviously we knew he was taking pictures of his dinner plate but didn't know THIS is what he's doing with them. We are not sure whether to be livid or find it hilarious.
