Lol this. Blue and white is a very odd choice for a black tie affair. It basically means that women either have to wear blue or they're wearing a formal white dress that competes with a bridal gown. What the heck do men wear? A white tux with a blue ruffled shirt?

It seems like the couple should choose between black tie or color coded. Black tie is just too difficult to also be tied into a specific color.

+1 I've never been to a color coded wedding, but this seems needlessly difficult. It's hard enough to find a dress without these extra restrictions. I can imagine people just wearing whatever they have or anything at all in the right colors that's not too expensive, regardless of appropriateness. I'd be extra annoyed if it was a color that I don't like.

I can’t stand to be uncomfortable. I would not have minded in my 20s but that ship sailed.

If DH is in tux definitely the beaded one.

I'd wear the beaded one if husband is in a tux. If it was comfortable enough for one wedding, it's comfortable enough for another.

People get what they get when they institute stupid color schemes for guests. Wear the comfortable one.

Going away on business tomorrow will be back Thursday and have a wedding next Saturday so there’s no time for me to look for something to wear. I am torn between a long beard gown that I wore to my nephews wedding, which definitely is formal but not the most comfortable. I also have another dress, which to be honest, I would consider a little bit more of a day dress it’s blue and white floral silk very pretty it goes to my ankles, definitely not as dressy. My husband will be in a tux just for contacts which would you wear?

I guess I’m asking is the blue and white dress a little too casual for a black tie wedding?
