If you did use a realtor you could go after them for the transfer tax via the Guaranty fund.

Your realtor should have addressed this obviously when writing the contract. There is nothing you can do now after contract ratification.

We are closing soon a new construction home in DC. Did not request that transfer taxes be split 50-50. Asked after contract signing and was told a firm no by the builder. Is there anything else we can do at this point to have them split it with us? TIA
