I had a very hard time finding companies that did that work. I would call big plumbing companies and they would tell me that they did recplace lines then they would show up and tell me they didn't do that type of work. It was infuriating. I even bugged the water company for some names. I finally found one and it was expensive. I'd have to look for the bill but it was several thousand dollars I believe. I'm sure the size of my front yard impacted that.

WSSC wasn’t offering anything, they were just contracting with a company called Home Serve.

WSSC stopped offering that insurance a few years ago. PP maybe able to get it somewhere else. Replacement cost will run ~$4000+

all lines eventually break. ask them how old water line is. anything more than 20, i'd keep an eye on it.

1. Don't freak out
2. Google "water service line replacement contractors near me" or find plumbers from your water provider's website
3. start calling and have them out come and get multiple quotes
4. ask them if they can pull the line vs. digging

A lot of plumbing guys don’t do service line replacement work.

This is not correct. Service line is your responsibility.

Op, they can pull your line without digging it. How old is your line?

I have been using H two O plumbing a lot of times it is a great company.
It is small company but they have all the equipment but they don’t return calls fast so you have to call them multiple times.

I live in DC and had a great experience with Thomas E Clark. They excavated about three feet to replace my cast iron sewer line with pvc from the alley to the rear of my house. Their quote was quite competitive and I was happy with their work/professionalism, etc.

Unfortunately not. They told us since it is on our property it is our responsibility

Discovered that there must be a leak in the mainline as our yard is wet in a certain area and our water pressure is a bit lower. Freaking out about cost, does anyone have a plumber recommendation and any idea of cost to repair? This will require excavation in a yard., luckily not near the driveway. I am in Montgomery county near PG county.
