I was thinking about this exact thing today. You see I'm studying really hard to pass some exams to be able to do a job, one I've done in the past. But it's dominated by females and there is sort of a hierarchy of beauty that persists even in the work force. Even if I'm "smarter" and work harder, I do not have model looks...tall, thin, long flows hair and large sparkling eyes. I myself am taken by their looks and feel intimidated so why wouldn't others. It's not fair but it does seem to come down to looks a lot of times. It's so unfair.

No because that vision is one of our most basic survival instincts

Superficial looks often indicate health and are part of mating/natural selection.

I think people tend to forget that humans are also animals and animals place a concerted focus on mating. Because of this, physical attraction will always matter to a certain extent.

No, that's silly. Even animals base their attraction on the physical - peacocks for example.

Beauty is just not a factor in youth but from day one to last day.

Well, there are elderly who age well and elderly who age poorly, not because of their doing but due to genetic privilege or lack of it.

From pretty babies to cute elderly folks, looks can really improve how humans adore, accept, ignore or reject other humans. Is it ever going to change?
