Find ooy who assembled/assembles the bike. You need to make sure the bike is stable and built right.

Definitely buy a used Peloton! I was one of those people who bought the peloton during its height, used it less than five times, and then sold it through Facebook. I purchased for $1,000, sold it for $750. No need to purchase new as the bikes hold up very well!

I don’t believe the warranty carries over if buying secondhand, just FYI! I would still buy a used one though.

You can also buy an aftermarket accessory to have this functionality on the non+ versions

OP here. Thanks so much! I am going to try to buy one used; I expect I’ll use it 2x a week to add some variety into my cardio. Dumb question, but when you get a used one, easy to subscribe for the classes?

Another option to consider is using the app with a different bike. I have a bike I bought for less than $500. I stream the app via my Firestick and use an iPhone app on my phone to calibrate to the Peloton resistance and cadence. The app is $12.99/month now and even with the price increase next month it’s still a bargain. I really love the Peloton content but couldn’t justify the price.

I would definitely consider getting one used. They are well built so it isn't like the mechanicals are going to be failing. Just like all fitness equipment, people have the best intentions...

Do they ever have sales? I'm in no rush.

Target sells Pelotons? I don't think so. That would really cheapen the brand. They likely sell something that looks like a P bike, but is a different brand.

I would buy new, or buy off FB Marketplace from someone who very gently used it. I bought one for DH last year, he's lost 45lbs thanks to that thing!

I bought one full price from Peloton.com and don't have any regrets about it. The transaction and delivery were very smooth and I've used it 6x per week since getting it in August. If you know you like it and are going to use it, just get a new one unless you really can't one. After seeing how much sweat gets dripped on this thing I would not want a used one!

I opted for the original bike. I can stream the app on a TV in the same room for other workouts and I absolutely feel like I do not need automatic resistance adjustment.

I have seen them 10% off on Amazon from time to time, but not sure they deliver free and fully assembled/set up. There is some type of Prime Day coming up next week so maybe check then?

There is also a DC Area Peloton group where people post their barely used bikes.

As far as buying a bike, Dicks sells them now too, but generally black friday through christmas they have some sort of deal. Often, it's just more accessories.

I've had a bike for 6 years and upgraded to the plus. For me as a daily rider who also does strength classes, it was worth it for the plus. However, for the average rider, a refurbished bike would meet most people's needs just fine.

Why so harsh and hateful?

I bought mine in June off of Craigslist for $800. The seller included 2 pairs of shoes and a padded seat cover. It’s perfect.

I would suggest looking on Craigslist.
