Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult.

It is about a black woman named Ruth who has been a labor and delivery nurse for 20 years. One day a white supremacist couple comes in to have their baby. They see Ruth and the husband tells the supervisor he doesn't want a black person around his wife or his baby. The supervisor tells Ruth to stay away from them. The next day the baby is in distress and no one else is around to help the baby except Ruth. Should she obey orders or help the baby?
Eventually there is a female lawyer involved.

I read this book a few years ago and found it riveting.

It’s weird, but legal thrillers are the only thing that seems to hold my interest at the moment. I think it’s the thriller/strategy/legal procedural part that engages me? Not as interested in the crime details - especially if it involves violence against women or murder etc. So maybe police procedurals involving white collar crime? 😂 Or maybe good political thrillers?

I didn't love them, but Stacey Abrams books featuring Avery Keene have decent reviews on Goodreads.

A Grisham novel I read a few years back had a female lawyer as the lead character. It was called "The Whistler".

There is a sequel but I haven't read it yet. From the synopsis, it looks like the same female lawyer is featured.

Marcia Clark (of OJ fame) wrote a series of legal thrillers where her barely-disguised alter ego outsmarts everyone in the room while being hit on by every man on every case from C.I.s to judges, if you want a good laugh. Not so much solid as fascinating.

I’m a former lawyer looking to read some solid legal thrillers told from a female POV. They don’t have to be great literature, but I’ve been super distracted/flighty lately and am hoping to find at least a few that will hold my interest and attention until the end.

(Bonus if the audiobook version is narrated by a woman, but I can check that if you all recommend sone good books for me to consider.) Thanks!
