Anonymous wrote:Yesterday, I came home after a weekend away and found 2 packages on my doorstep that had been opened. Nothing was taken. I checked my Ring doorbell cam footage, and a guy had showed up at my door at around 5:15 pm the day before. He then stood on my front steps for almost 40 minutes, then opened the packages. He held his phone up to the camera and showed some text messages, saying “I was messaging someone on an app and they told me to meet them here, but I can now see that it was a scam and they were trying to take my money. I opened the packages to see if they were for me, as you can see, I didn’t take anything. Thought you should know your address is being used for this.”
Has anyone experienced anything like this? I called the police non-emergency line and they were completely unconcerned.
