+1. Given the speed of charging, Tesla really is the only reasonable option if you plan to ever take a road trip. Get the long range model.

This is just not true (source: I have a non-Tesla EV that we've taken on many road trips). Plenty of reasons to buy a Tesla if you want one, but we don't need to invent them.

Exactly. Except I’m not sold on the “plenty of reasons” - range is a good reason - but there are a lot of reasons not to buy them… such as, they’re ugly

+2. The Model Y probably meets your needs. It also feels amazing to drive.

A lot of cars will be using Tesla charging network very soon.

Not a big fan of the tesla cars.

Look at BMW, Volvo, VW. I bet BMW and VW will be compatible soon.

But it also really doesn’t matter, there are plenty of non-Tesla DC charging stations on highways for long trips. And around town you’ll just charge at home.

Tesla.

Why risk other crappy charging networks, issues with range in cold climates, etc.?

Tesla is so far ahead of everyone else. They are eligible for tax credits too.

I’d like to replace my subaru outback (which was totaled) with an EV. It’s the only car we’ll have, 3 tall people (so sight lines are important). I don’t want anything bigger than an outback (it actually felt a little too big sometimes). Anyone love their EV family car?
