Bring lunch to the park and bring the ball, then just let things play out naturally. She might want to go on the swings or she might be mortified at the thought. And at 12 that attitude can change hour to hour! Take her lead.

Same PP above; my 11yo still likes playgrounds too though. So this is very kid dependent. You know yours.

My 11yo would enjoy a hike with a picnic… not sure about going on swings together….

It’s supposed to be beautiful out tomorrow. DH has sudden plans so I’m considering taking my 12yo DD to a park for a picnic lunch, swinging, a walk, and some volleyball. Is this too juvenile?
