This and I took what I was eating and cut it nearly in half. I was hungry but this was more important. I was sick of the extra weight.

Are you nursing? If you’re nursing, I don’t think you should be worried about this. Your body will change a lot in the six months after you wean in my experience.

You lost most of it already at 6 months, which is great! Keep doing what you are doing and see where you are at 9 months PP. It takes 9 months to gain the weight, give yourself the same time to let your body gradually take it off. If you are still 10 lbs up by then, then cut portions and just eat less

Meal prep like a mofo. For me, exercise is awesome but won’t make the scale budge. I have to stay on a strict calorie deficit to lose any weight PP - I am 5 months out with my second and down 20 lbs from where my body “settled”.

Look into the program Get Mom Strong. It’s not about weight, but it’s a good workout program that’s doable at home. She also has some nutrition tips, real ones, that are about eating well and eating what we need.

She advises throwing away the scale.

Keep them coming!!

I’m grateful.

Cut carbs almost to the bone. You don't need to do keto, but change your diet to be primarily protein, healthy fats, and green leafy veggies (i.e., eggs for breakfast, big salad with protein at lunch, protein and veggies for dinner). That will drop the pounds, not exercise.

If/when things get easier, add in some strength training/lifting. Cardio is nice, but it won't make the difference. Plus, as baby gets larger, you will need the arm strength !

I remember my obsession with my weight after a baby. I threw out the scale. Seriously, who walks around knowing their weight? You know if you look or feel good and others will let you know too. I actually preferred my ten lb thicker body. Hello thick thighs! Anyways, if you want to commit to losing the weight, then do it. If you have time to eat, then you have time to work out.

I 100% agree with letting it go and not being attached to a number or what your body used to be before. But if you wan tot be able to be consistent about exercise, work out at 5:30AM. Find a group class (I did Fit4Mom) or do a Peloton workout or whatever. Then if (when) your workday gets out of control or if you're exhausted at the end of the day, you've gotten the workout out of the way.

Throw out your scale. Let go, and stop being attached to a number, and letting the number control how you feel, and your relationships. Especially for a stupid 10lbs.

How?

I’m 6.5 months postpartum. Still one/two dresses sizes and 10 pounds heavier than pre-baby weight. This is particularly hard for me, as a lifelong perfectionist. It’s weighing (no pun intended) on my happiness, distracting me from my baby, and impacting my desire to be intimate

I have a really intense job, as does spouse. Exercising is always the first thing to go.

Give it to me straight and borderline unhealthy is fine. I need this gone for my mental health.
