DPR classes - they are about $40 for 6 lessons. So cheap. And because they are so cheap, not every one shows up for every lessons so its more like semi-private.

There are also classes at Pauline Betz (down the road from Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda). Those classes and the facility are through the County.

DC parks and rec

When you see someone teaching tennis to kids, go up and ask if they can coach you. You will need to pay but oh well. You can also join a class, then get to know other beginners and start hitting the balls around with them.

Georgetown Prep and the Bethesda Y both offer classes, but the Y doesn't have indoor courts, so no classes during the winter and the Georgetown Prep classes are nearly always filled. Your best bet is to find a pro who rents times indoors for small group classes (i.e., 4 people). There are several pros who give lessons at the courts near Lafayette ES. You might just go over there on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and ask around. You could also ask the pros who've taught your daughter or run the camps she attended.

2. TGA drop in adult classes - https://northdc.playtga.com/ - better website than RCTC but they seem to be more informal.

3. Search nextdoor and there are always people selling their personal tennis instruction services.

There are a few other groups. I will post as I remember.

My kid plays tennis and asked me to learn so we can play together. I am not terribly coordinated in this way, but she has done lessons and camps for a few years now so zips around the court. I can’t keep up! Which is a bit frustrating to both of us, and though I do try hard and we both laugh a lot I am really, truly awful and can’t control the ball. And it would be nice to share this with her.
