Unfortunately the DC police will likely think your husband is having an affair.
If you have any chance of pushing past their default of doing as little as possible you need to be very assertive and direct that he is not having an affair, this is unprecedented, etc etc. they still probably won’t do much but run tags, see who was booked last night, and do their own check of hospitals.
You could try a private investigator if the police give you the uninterested vibe… depends on means.

If you both have iPhones, check to see if you two ever activated the family “find my” location tracking feature.
If he has an iPhone as well as other apple products, and you know his password, check those apple products — he may have activated the “find my” feature at some point for his devices, which means you’ll be able to see where his iPhone last pinged from,
Even if you don’t have this, the car may have the feature that lets you track where it is.

Then there’s another thing to do, AFTER you call the police: someone (maybe not you: can you delegate?) should call all the companies that tow from the area around the restaurant to find out if a car with his plates is there.
Again, though:
1. Call the police. Now. Don’t delay.
2. Get your kids to school — or, if there is anyone you can call right now to ask to take them for you, do that.
3. Call or visit his office.

I would start with the police and bring them every name and contact info you have for people who were at the dinner, but also contact them yourself. Good luck.

This is not like him. He takes the kids to school every morning. It’s 6am and he still isn’t home. I will go by the restaurant after i drop the kids this morning. However it is downtown so I imagine the car could be towed if it was parked on the street overnight

Last thing: if he has no history of disappearing, if your relationship is good, if this is utterly unlike him, do not hesitate for one moment to take this seriously and treat it as an urgent issue. Call the police, take off work, drive by the restaurant where he went last night (see if his car is still parked there), visit his office.
If he’s done stuff like this in the past — well, see if he shows up to work before going into emergency mode.

My husband didn’t come home last night after a work dinner. His phone is off and he hasn’t called. I called hospitals and police stations and no one under his name is there. What should i do now?
