I really enjoyed Disney with my kids when they were small. It was a better deal, though. We used a lot of FastPasses and got free dining when it was offered. Now... I don't like how much the parks have changed. It's a pain in the butt to make park reservations and pay extra for FastPasses. It just isn't a good deal anymore.

I have really enjoyed a couple of days at Universal, though. Prices are more reasonable. I am looking forward to the opening of Nintendo World.

That’s us! Why does it blow your mind? We love everything about it. We stay at a luxury hotel (club level) and have a blast at the parks. It’s our happy place. We’ve taken other vacations with the kids but they don’t have nearly as much fun as they do at Disney. They’re 14 & 16 now and we’ve been going routinely for about the last 12 years.

OP again. The demand is unbelievable there are so many people that save up to come here because they believe it's a quintessential American kid experience. Add to that the overseas travelers it's madness.
We were in the parks on days with "moderate" crowds. I can't imagine what it's like on a super crowded day. I'm happy my DC had a nice time. But never again

On one level Disney does not want this. They do not want to be too expensive for MC or lower as it hurts the brand and brand growth.

They of course like the money. And they are full. We just have that many people who can afford or are willing to pay.

They do not like where they are but I do not think they have any idea what to do about it. Make it cheaper you might say but not sure that really could happen.

OP here. Our last time here was 4 years ago. We're spending way more for a worse experience. Never again!

Have never been, but from what others have told us, one interesting thing is the incredibly diverse nature of the visitors, clearly from across all income levels (except probably lower 20-30%?), races, many international, from everywhere in the US, etc.

Seems like the way they do this is for middle-lower income folks, its a once in a 10 year thing, they stretch money, maybe drive down, can't afford the extras and wait in lines. Meanwhile the richer people go maybe every 2-3 years, fly down, pay for the Disney hotels, extras, etc, and have a vaguely similar side-by-side experience, but really quite different. In a way, props to Disney for being able to appeal to such a broad audience. Unusual nowadays.

So NOT looking forward to our trip next month. Just a huge money suck.

DCUM has been telling you this for years. No Disney! Spend your time and money on any other vacation.

It’s for folks that are ok spending 10k on an amusement park. Clearly there is a demand or they would cut prices. Personally I would go to Europe instead for the money.

I told my kids for this kind of money we could have spent a week on my home country and lived like kings!
