Yes. It is a rich kid school and it is need aware.

If those factors are important to your student, I highly recommend the school.

You are not ignoring the troll. You’re responding directly to them.

Does Wake prefer private school students? Bc I noticed in the Bethesda mag chart that BCC had something like 22 applications and maybe 1 acceptance.

Mine was accepted RD last year (does not attend) with straight A's from a large public HS, a strong transcript with all AP's and Honors classes (but not nearly the amount of AP's as I see kids in the DC area on this board taking).
They love demonstrated interest. Rolling (binding) admissions for ED is an interesting option for many to commit to WF early.
I think US News will not play a factor - it is a very popular school for strong students. No skin in the game.

Would you mind sharing how many APs? Thank you.

AP Calc AB
AP Physics C
AP Euro
APUSH
That’s it!

These are could be (even in 2023) Ivy level stats (with the max rigor) from my kids' "rigorous private" where the average GPA is a 3.5. Wake is more like a 3.6 and for kids who didn't take max rigor.
(By max rigor are you talking AP language, math beyond calc BC, and physics C?)

Mine was admitted with Calc AB, and AP Physics C. Current sophomore elsewhere

I agree. The new rankings are no reflection on the quality of the academics. Several of my kids' schools notched down with no difference in quality from three years ago until now. Meaningless. I don't think it will affect application numbers - some schools like this one (where my kids are not attending actually) will always attract a ton of applicants. It could however affect how governing boards view sitting presidents - the backlash might be why some are responding in the way we see.

I would say yes.

Wake will be an easier admit this year now that it’s plummeted in the rankings back to reality.
