Also I see posts about difficulty finding Wegovy.

They are literally the same medication branded differently for different things. This is not a case of one being a generic for the other and slightly different.

100% the same medication.

Yes. Same manufacturer. Same exact formula. Not like Coke vs Coke Zero or Coke vs Pepsi. Exact same.

Only thing that differs is max dosing.

Been on both. They are the same drug, and my experience was thus the same.

They are literally the same. Not similar. The same.

+1. They're the exact same drug, named twice for two approvals (diabetes & obesity). The only difference is the dosage they're prescribed in and how complicated the pen you get them in is.

I’ve used both to navigate the shortage until I got to the high doses. No difference other than I prefer the single dose pens of Wegovy.

I was pre-diabetic and was prescribed Ozempic, which has helped me bring both weight and blood sugar under control. I'd prefer to see a different doctor (unrelated reasons) and that new doctor is more comfortable prescribing Wegovy now that my bloodwork has improved. My insurance provider covers both drugs with pre-authorization.

I know the drugs are chemically similar, but so often similar drugs can have different side effects, availability, etc. Has anybody made the switch? How did it go?
