Lol I literally just recommended this in the “what are you reading in September” thread. There are some fascinating journeys to self-improvement in there!

A Piece of Cake by Cupcake Brown
Really moving, powerful memoir of a woman that wrested herself from poverty, addiction, and dysfunction into a powerful law career and personal empowerment. I read it probably 15 years ago and it stuck.

Five Fortunes — by Beth Gutcheon — is an old favorite of mine. Multiple women who have very different lives and pressures meet at a spa. I found the details of their transformations and growth very compelling. I like many of her other books as well.
Helen Hoang (The Kiss Quotient) and Casey McQuiston (One Last Stop; also the author of Red, White, and Royal Blue) also have books you might want to take a look at.

I just finished A Court of Silver Flames- currently the final court and roses book. I loved Nesta's story about healing, learning meditation, working through her mental barriers, becoming physically fit, and triumphing in the end. Its something I really needed to hear and the journey inspired me to start my own. Also loved that her journey was part of the story but not THE story. Recommend a book with a similar road of self improvement? Prefer fiction please.
