I think it’s the .25 that’s impossible to find.

It's the 0.25, 0.5, and 1.0 that are hard to find. Company said they're prioritizing 1.7 and 2.4 for those already on it. I was able to snag a 1.0 in PA (1.5 hours away) after calling 70 pharmacies last week. Thankfully now that I'm going to 1.7 next, I should be good.

Good luck, OP. Have you tried to get a switch to Mounjaro (better Rx, IMO). I wanted it but Federal won't cover it until it's approved for weight loss which should be October.

Is this BCBS federal plan?

Yes. It's widely believed that when Mounjaro gets approved for weight loss, it will be added to the 2024 formulary for BCBS Federal under Obesity category (right now it's just under Diabetes and for Tier 3) as it did this year with Wegovy. The Rxs are the same price but Mounjaro slightly more impactful. The pill form GLP and the triple G version Lilly working on has even more promise than Mounjaro.

How does one do this wrong? I've been calling for weeks to different places and no one has the low doses.

I sucked it up after being afraid to commit and started in April. Was on .5 in May when the shortages notices came out. And immediately asked by PPA to fill 1.0 for me while my pharmacy could get it, which she did. I was prepared to pay OOP for an early fill, but my insurance covered it as a dose change. So I (by the skin of my teeth) got to 1.7 in time. My pharmacy keeps 2.4 in stock for me now.

Not gloating. Actually thanking my lucky stars. It took me a long time to be ready to really give losing the 100 pounds I need to lose my all. It would have been devastating to start, see a month or two of real progress, then been put in a holding pattern.

If you are waiting for it hang in there. And don’t give up (like I probably would have). It’s worth it. 5 months. 47 pounds down. Much lower A1c and cholesterol and able to really work out for the first time since surgery.

Also, try the small, Mom and Pop pharmacies, instead of chains. Mine is prioritizing what it can get for people who are already in the series. So once you start, they won’t give the next dose to a random person who calls and wants it over you. If you transfer your other prescriptions, establish yourself as a client and put Wegovy prescription on file, they will fill it when they can. And once they fill it once, you get priority for the next dose. Or, at least that’s how mine does it.

Thanks. Called 5 today. None have it.

How is this helpful? Lots of people can’t get the low doses filled - she’s not doing anything wrong. How about offering specific information to solve the problem you think is nonexistent?

DH hasn’t had his filled since June. He tried a a couple of other pharmacies and gave up. He had just gotten insurance to cover it too.

DP here - Does Amazon have the low doses? I have to start from scratch again b/c I haven't been able to get my dose since June.

They get them-but it could take a few days to have it to put in your cart. My first order, I had to refreshrefreshrefresh for like 3 days (not constantly, but when I could) but this last time, it was available a few hours after my scrip was sent.

Is it available again? If so, where? I haven’t been able to get my prescription refilled since July.
