Huh? Briefly relocate on delivery night? How would you know when that will be? My sister went into labor at 23 weeks, I did at 38 weeks. That's a huge possible span of time to relocate ( and also stay employed).

Well seeing as food deserts are 18% of the population, I think we have big problems. Food scarcity is continuous. Pregnancy and delivery is temporary.

Maternal death rates are sky high in the US and this is one part of the problem

It says 2 million women of child bearing age, so your denominator is significantly lower than 100 million - probably more like 60 million. Also there are plenty of places where the care just isn’t very good.

So a lack of delivery wards isn't a problem actually? Because there are over 100 million women in this country. 2 million without a maternity ward in an hour or so drive doesn't seem so bad.
