I've looked at Play a bunch of times for Europe, and every time, with the fees, it ended up more expensive than just buying on SAS, IcelandAir, or Aer Lingus. Add in no entertainment or food, and no thank you.

I second that they don't provide any water. I did have a child who threw up and they brought up a bottle of water, but normally...no. I fill my water bottle up before I leave and then I'll get an alcoholic drink and/or a coffee (I know...airplane coffee isn't great but I sometimes just NEED a cup of coffee, even bad coffee).

Yes they give you water.

Just flew with them in August. No they don’t. No water. And also very strict with baggage

I agree you need to very carefully check all of their add on fees. We bought the middle fare which bundles a few fees together and at that point it wasn't really a deal but still a little cheaper than Icelandair (also check both BWI and Dulles because it seems like the fares vary a little between them depending on demand).

We flew this past summer and thought it was fine-- seats weren't super comfortable but ok. We did not get even a glass of water for free and we didn't have outlets but we expected that so it wasn't a problem. They did make a number of people use the sizer for their luggage at checkin (and having to check luggage unexpectedly is more expensive than just paying to check in advance).

oh and they seat at least children with adults....i was solo with my 2 kids and we sat in a row of 3. They may not put the 2nd adult together with you, but yeah, no charge so unless you want specific seats, no need to reserve seats.

Sorry, no experience yet, but I’m seriously considering it for our Iceland trip next summer. It’s a short enough flight that we won’t get much sleep, and we’re not in the 1st class, lay-flat tax bracket anyway. So the price difference between them and IcelandAir is pretty compelling.

I think it might come down to bag fees for us. So when I’m ready to buy, I’ll probably go through the whole booking process for both airlines and see what the total is before deciding.

My ex-husband (we’re friendly) likes it. There’s no food or TV but he said it’s comfortable.
