Meghan’s jewels are priceless due to historic value. Her clothes are not that expensive.

A lot of celebrities wear normal clothes. No, they obviously don’t shop at Macy’s or Old Navy (I don’t either), but they shop brands like Rag and Bone, Madewell, Aritzia, Reformation, etc. Emma Stone, Dakota Johnson, and Meghan Markle before she married Harry are good examples.

Second, if you’ve been following the Invictus Games and/ or details re: Meghan’s outfits, you would have noticed that Meghan herself has worn J. Crew, Cuyana, Zara, and Banana Republic during the IG. I’m curious though. Where did you see this headline? That’s a really big number. $247 k is oddly specific and difficult to do without the sort of jewelry that would really stand out oddly at a sporting event — even for a spectator.

Was just going to say this -- that number seems way off based on what I've seen her wearing. She wore some Ralph Lauren but it was like a pair of jeans and a sweater, probably nothing over $400 if that. Most of what she's worn are things I would buy or already own -- a $70 dress from BR, some J Crew flats, a romper from Zara, etc. I'm sure her jewelry is higher end than mine but it's been understated so we're not talking about some 30k necklace or something. I think that number is wrong and was likely inflated or just straight up made up to try and make Meghan look really entitled and over the top, when if anything she's working hard to be the opposite specifically because she knows people will attack her. I kind of wish she'd just say screw it and dress to the nines.

I actually think a lot of celebs wear pretty normal clothes. I follow celeb fashion pretty closely and someone is always wearing some $120 dress from a normal mall brand and then it sells out in two seconds. Also a lot of the cocktail-level fashion celebrities wear is not insane. Many of them are wearing brands like Self-Portrait, not Oscar de la Renta and Balenciaga. A $300-400 dress is not typical for most people, but it's also not totally out of the question if it was a big important event like your child getting married or your prom. Well, celebs just have more big events where they will be photographed and scrutinized than most of us do. And in paparazzi shots, celebs are often wearing some old pair of ripped Levis or inexpensive tees or carrying tote bags from Trader Joes or wearing Adidas slides. Yes, the often also wear expensive items that are out of reach to most of us. But not exclusively. It doesn't matter.

JG for sure. She doesn't always look great in the off the peg stuff, sometimes it's a bit boxy for her frame and emphasizes her butt, she looks much better in couture. But hey, she is down to earth, right?
