OP here. More of a city kid. He's mentioned Chicago, NY, Miami, Philly.

Check out jesuit colleges outside of the top 5 or so (Georgetown, BC, Santa Clara being tops). They're typically in/near big cities and relatively easier to get into. some also have great sports. Gonzaga, Maquette, St Joes, Xavier, all the Loyolas, etc.

Georgetown is NOT easy to get into

And sometimes their grads canNOT read.

And by easy for admissions purposes, do you the actual process needs to be easy, or that their criteria need to be fairly low?

OP here. Low criteria/Easy to get admitted. I'm not convinced yet that his GPA is going to be stellar.

What about a gap year like Dynami? Living semi-independently (similar to a dorm), take one class, have a job/internship, learn some life skills. https://dynamy.org/

You need to specify GPA and anything else relevant, OP. Honors or regular, any APs, and test scores if he has them.

If your kid has a GPA over about 2.5 there are plenty of schools that will offer a fine education.

I know this is going to sound terrible, but I'm looking for colleges, that have minimal entry requirements, & requiring the least effort. Back story. My DS CLAIMS he wants to go to college, but his behavior, & grades do not support that claim. We're in the 11th grade, & I know we need to start at least identifying colleges, to start visiting and applying next year.

NOT INTERESTED IN COMMUNITY COLLEGES! I want him to go away, get out of the DMV, which I think will help tremendously, & experience college campus life, hoping it will turn him around. But, starting out the gate, early signs point to him NOT getting into, for a lack of better words, a "GOOD or Highly sought after" college. Open to location.

Any thoughts or recommendations? If you can, please refrain from bashing.
