I love this personally. Smart idea to utilize technology to offer better policing. How can you not be in favor of this?

I can’t believe a drone can make a life or death decision on whether or not a suspect actually has a gun.
If a drone gets to a scene 5 or 6 minutes before an officer could, it could gather a lot of information to help prep officers. So in the example given at the forums, police received a 911 call for a man with a gun. That type of call sends in amped up cops ready to defend. Instead; the drone was able to determine it was not a gun but a lighter. The police entered the scene on a much more low key level. Conducted a brief interview and left.
That’s how it can reduce the potential for officer involved shootings.

I looked up the price of a similar drone aircraft - the system like the one shown costs upwards of $50,000 each, possibly double that depending on other options.
Waste of money. Their budget needs to be trimmed dramatically.
