I quit watching around season 4--I don't have Netflix, and I really loved the original cast, so when they started leaving, I lost interest. Maybe I'll give it another shot some time, but the storylines started seeming farfetched around 1960--with all the nuns going to Africa and whatnot. I binge read the books several years ago, when the series was new, and when to England to see Miranda Hart in her "what I call Live Show." I loved her character Chummy.

I feel bad for Cyril. I hope Lucille comes back.

I think Trixie and Matthew are adorable together. I hope they actually get married.

I agree, but unfortunately read that Lucille is staying in Jamaica for good. Poor Cyril.

I think you’ll be happy about the final episode of the season for Trixie’s sake. I agree, she and Matthew (and Jonto!) are adorable. I’m glad she’s getting her happy-ever-after after so long.

I have watched every show since it aired. Although I like the nurses, I LOVE the nuns (I grew up going to Catholic schools. If you are so inclined, read the Call the Midwife book.

Such a wonderful show! I think they got the green light for at least 2 more seasons!

And Sr. Monica Joan - I'd love to have a beer with her.

I just love how tidy their uniforms are, how pristine the linens/towels/bedding are. Even the the middle of a delivery, their frocks are so clean.

the clothing is one of the characters too. and the unique medical cases. historical cases, etc. it's an amazing show.

I love this show too.

Can anyone contextualize it for me-like, is there an equivalent kind of neighborhood to Poplar, except in the US?

It just feels like nowhere in America would be comparable. I’d like to live in Poplar (except with a bathroom in my house and hot water, of course!!).

Yes, Netflix gets the season AFTER PBS and sometimes not the Christmas episode.

I started watching last week! I find it very comforting too. I think I'm on episode 4/5.

Perhaps. I don't have cable tv, so I hadn't seen the episodes when the originally aired.

I really don't know why I love this show so much. But they just released new episodes on Netflix.

Trixie is back. She's so high maintenance but lovable.

The rollers in Phyllis' hair at night KILL me. I am off to google the actress in a regular headshot.
