Thanks! I looked them up: it’s a dish garden with hens & chicks, ghost plant, and jelly bean. All seem to prefer full sun. I will try to soak watering method.

How will I know if there is root rot and/or it needs to be re-potted?

It could also be shriveled if the roots have rotted.

No direct sunlight. Put it on a windowsill that faces North.

I think that can be true for a lot of succulents but there are some that need more attention. I never water my cactus; it just gets rainwater. I bring it inside in the winter/fall and I think it gets watered maybe 2 or 3 times. And it's huge. My string of pearls is very finicky. It can't be kept in direct sunlight for too long and I have to water it as soon as the soil gets dry. If I wait too long it starts to shrivel and turn yellow.

We have a couple that my kids wanted sitting under a skylight and I don’t think anyone has watered them for over a year and they’re fine.

I agree it might be too much sun or direct light if it looks shrivelled. Move it to a lower light area for a bit and let it heal a bit.

I have a snake plant that I kept in a low light area in my living room, and when I was cleaning my husband suggested we move it to a sunnier area. It dried out so bad and completely curled up I thought it was a gonner. Moved it back to its old spot and it recovered great.

I was given a thank you present of a succulent garden dish. The person who gave it to me said she knew I have a brown thumb but these succulents are easy to keep alive. I googled succulent care and have been following advice I read on happysprout.

It’s not going well. The dish sits in a full sunlight window. They get water approximately every other week. It just looks shriveled and sickly. Am I missing something?
