I think the main difference between the two candidates is the issue of whether or not to publish the case summary info freely online.

She was at our BTSN too and I didn't really like her. She just said, "Hi mom," in the general direction of a bunch of families leaving the building as if she knew us. I wasn't sure if she was talking to me or the woman behind me (turns out, she was talking to anyone who would respond). Then started talking about how she's campaigning and handed me a flyer.

I haven't looked into any policies yet among the candidates, so I might end up voting for her, but she didn't make a great first impression.

I'm voting for Falcon. I'm a personal injury lawyer in Fairfax County and he has my vote. Fairfax has been slow to change and modernize. There was such a reluctance to adopt e-filing.

I believe the clerk is elected as a constitutional officer to have an extra layer of “check and balances” and also so the people can decide issues like whether or not the case info should be free like most other Virginia jurisdictions.

Thanks for the articles! I was so confused as to why this was an elected position. I wonder how much recenue fairfax would lose because of Falcon’s position?

I think there is enough free access in the current practices and do worry about data scraping if everything is free online to everyone.

I’m inclined to vote for the person with experience in the office so probably Culipher.
