He’s an outspoken Black progressive in a super-hostile white redneck county. If anyone need an arsenal of guns, it’s him.

Normally I think anyone who has a gun should be locked away for life, but in his case I’ll make an exception and say I’m totally fine with it.

NP. Owning guns isn't illegal and he wasn't arrested for anything related to guns. He was arrested for statements he made. It's impossible to be sure given that the article doesn't tell us what he said, but it seems incredibly unlikely that the speech for which he was arrested is anything other than protected by the First Amendment. A true threat isn't protected, but political hyperbole that sounds like a threat is. A not to be taken literally statement about burning somethign down as an expression of anger is very common political speech, and I'd bet money that that is what we're talking about here.
