15 minute cities are basically the UK and Germany outside the major cities. You have a town that has urban-lite density - usually with a main shopping/commercial street. Then people live in the surrounding blocks. And then the town is surrounded by farm land and forests. Regional rail connects the town to larger cities and other similar towns. It the basic foundation of medieval settlement planning.

Very easy and quick to grab a coffee, pick up your medication, then go for a nice hike. Most people still own cars, but you're not a slave to the gas station to do every errand.

I honestly think it would really revitalize rural America. But that horse is out of the barn.
