Is there a high population of Jewish people at that school?

My understanding is that no after school activities are permitted that evening.

No surprise. It is a Friday. That is always the start of Jewish sabbath. Principal is well aware of holiday and said deal with it.

That's just disrespectful. It's one thing to make a scheduling error. It's another to have it pointed out to you and say too bad.

+1 Most people here are not Jewish, so calm down and see if you can get it rescheduled.

Ironic that the school is named after a Jewish astronaut! Great optics.

Holiday or no holiday I have never seen BTSN or any official school event at our elem or MS on a Friday evening. It's always on a T/W/Th. The exception is the PTA sponsored back to school social which is usually on the Friday the week after labor day (and not a religious holiday).
