Empty nester here who is enjoying more time with my spouse again! We go on walks, dates, have long, interesting conversations and are both reading a lot more.

I am celebrating my kids spreading their wings, and, enjoying a clean house 😉

Right now I do because we just started Senior year and last year and this year have felt really stressful and she’s at this age where she doesn’t really like me and I feel like I’m just this horrible nag. I want it all to be over and for her to be in college. But that’s not really because of her. It’s more because the college admissions process is stressful. I know I’m going to be so sad when she’s gone. I didn’t really ever feel like that when she was young but these last few years have been kind of sucky.

When the kids were very little, I certainly wanted the days to fly by. My kids were difficult when they were young - very little need for sleep and were generally "high-needs". Frankly, I'm relieved that those days are long behind us. Now that they are shipping off to college, I do feel guilty that I wasn't able to enjoy those days more, but I remind myself that you don't have to love EVERY stage of parenthood. I ADORE my kids now - they are smart, funny, and generally kick-ass people. I'm sad that I don't get to enjoy more time with them at this stage of their lives.

Maybe on a bad day, I'd be ready for it to be over. But not on a regular basis.

You're facing an empty nest after 5 kids, it'll be an adjustment. And not the same anymore.

I really never did, we had bad days and wanted them to go fast or just wanted a day to get here, but never really pray or wanted everything to be over so quickly.

I just don't know how I would fell when my youngest daughter goes away to college, she's only a sophomore, but time has been going by so fast lately that we don't have time to even breath. We do spend time with her when she's not busy or doing something, but it seems like every Friday she has plans and she spends times with her friends on the weekend and what its the best way to prepare when the baby leave the house? I had 4 other pretty successful kids and they are mostly gone from the house, they always come over but its not the same anymore.
