Another vote for yoga. So many ways to improve your balance and strength that you might not even be aware of. I was pretty surprised when I notice how different my balance is left side vs right side.

Standing on one leg. Standing on one of those ball boards. Paddle boarding, and then paddle board yoga. Sculling - but make yourself scull in a tippy boat, not a stable one.

My dad had Parkinson’s and did all sorts of exercises for balance. One commonly recommended was Tai Chi - he really enjoyed it, though I like something a little more fast paced.

I learned some great ones from a physical therapist. Standing on a squishy foam pad.

Can’t explain them here, but try googling physical therapy exercises for balance or just schedule an apt with a PT.

I saw definite improvement with practice.

What are the best ways to improve my balance? I'm 50 and athletic, but I can use some improvement.
Are there exercises I can do at my standing desk? I would love some recommendations, and youtube videos would be especially helpful.

What I am already doing:
- I do strength training and a variety of other exercises, including dance.
- I use barefoot shoes for most of my gym workouts, except for those which require extra cushioning like running.
- Hiking and yoga help me a lot - I should do these more often.
