We are Jewish and while the daycare we use isn’t Jewish, she has been very respectful about it. We go to an at home daycare in the mount vernon area. Yes, the house is decked out for Christmas and they do an Easter egg hunt, but my kids have always brought home Hanukah crafts, never brought home a Santa or a bunny. She has helped them keep kosher for Passover and read Chanukah and Passover stories to the kids. I’m sure if i brought in books or activities for Purim, RH, YK, Sukkot, Shavuot etc she would do them as well. My eldest has transitioned to Gesher at this point, if anything, having that background (plus being the only Jewish family on our block) has opened up many discussions about being Jewish and also helped her develop Jewish pride even prior to starting at Gesher. I do believe many people who run an in home daycare would be respectful and open to incorporating Jewish holidays and traditions into their activities, especially if you can help guide them.

These posts are insanely annoying. You realize the DMV is huge, right? It could take over an hour to get from one side to the other.

I would not send a child there after reading their Maryland licensing inspection history reports. Lots of issues there.

Parents should read these reports for ANY daycare they are considering.

Yes, of course. But that program had some particularly egregious health and safety issues.

The Bender JCC in Rockville takes infants, as does the Pozez JCC in Fairfax, VA. The Edlavitch DC JCC Preschool now starts at 18months, and The Gan at Adas Israel starts at 12months.

The Gan at Adas Israel started some sort of infant or toddlers. They’d be worth a call

Beth El in Alexandria. It's full day and I'm pretty sure the program is affiliated with the JCC.

Which ones? I am new to the area and I’m not a member yet.

You'd be better off asking a local Facebook or WhatsApp group

Does anyone know of any Jewish day cares in the DMV? I found a lot of nursery schools and centers that take kids starting age 2. But I am looking for a daycare that could take kids as young as six months old. Thanks!
