If it is ozempic, who cares? clearly your daughter is proud of herself. Maybe offer to take her shopping for some new clothes. Bonus is some shopping is always a nice mother/daughter bonding.

Yes since she brought it up she is looking for your support. I hate to discuss my weight good or bad with my mom. I never bring it up. I would give her a gift card for CHristmas.

I would normally say not to say anything but she brought it up. I would keep it low key and just text her and say you'd like to know if there's anything she needs like a gift certificate for clothes or a fancy food gadget or something. I wouldn't make a big thing of it.

I would respond with questions, not admiration. If I am saying nothing when you gain 50 lbs, I am saying nothing when you lose it. I realize she told you about it, as a life update. So I'd maybe say "I'm so glad you're happy in your body" instead of "good job". Things like that.

I would not reward anything. She is an adult. She can buy her own clothes.

Our daughter called us last night and wanted to tell us she'd lost 50 lbs. Of course we noticed and said she looked healthy and glowing but didn't go beyond that.
It's hard to know what to say.
But when she called we told her how proud we were of her. That it must have been difficult. She did it over 6 months with no meds. She said she wants to lose 50 more.
My question - should we reward her with a gift certificate to a place for new clothes? Just continue to "good job" her? Say nothing?
