Must be nice to have the money and time for "demonstratable interest"

American University, Loyola Marymount, Occidental, others of this ilk, they all care a lot about demonstrated interest.

Good. Demonstrated interest is gameable BS for rich people.

Bates used to care. Now they just care about RD.

Michigan doesn’t care for OOS.

It’s always been schools who care about yield.

But I think lately schools have been relying more on ED and less on DI. Tulane is a great example. They’ll take your name and add you to their email spam list, but they don’t use it for admission much if at all

Demonstrated interest is very important at Olin, Dickinson, Morehouse, Syracuse, American, and Ithaca.

Demonstrated interest is important at Tulane, Bates, Kenyon, Lehigh, Elon, and High Point, among others.

Demonstrated interest is considered at Duke, NYU, Dartmouth, WashU, Tufts, Notre Dame, UMich, etc.

Demonstrated interest is not considered at Brown, MIT, Georgetown, CMU, JHU, UC Berkeley, Caltech, etc.

Highly selective colleges don’t care. Others do.

It’s indicated on the CDS but the question is how accurate is that.

Brown, Columbia, Harvard, NYU so far haven’t cared at all. Did they ever?

I always thought it related to the size of the schools. The small to medium track but large schools don’t care.

Rising junior. Have done a few tours as they’ve lined up w vacations etc and .. nobody seems to care about demonstrated interest.

This is my third. First two, six years ago now, demonstrated interest was such a big deal.

Now I suspect schools and 10x as many apps and have switched to caring a lot more about ED and ED2 - ultimate interest - and skipped the rest.

Am I onto something or maybe sample size of half a dozen too small
