I am in Baltimore, and my kid played for them a few years ago. Their younger boy's program is solid, and they have a few real quality coaches mixed in. They do a good job of getting them into tournaments where they can be successful, which is why they end up ranked so often. I haven't seen a second team in any age group of theirs that was near their first team. As they get older the better players move to the MLS or ECNL sides and you see that the older boys teams are not as successful once high school starts. They are an E64 club for both boys and girls. They did import their 2011 top team from another club with coach, and that is a very good squad. Those players will most likely stay with their coach even at the e64 competition level. They do have and continue to acquire some quality facilities. However, at least when we were there and from talking with folks still there, you have issues getting on them because they rent the fields out to others.

I don’t think they necessarily have to compete with BSC/SYC. They’re so far! Aren’t they ENCL? Or if they want to play MLSNext, they would be more like go to Armour rather than BSC.

Coppermine is not in ECNL.

They did have some fantastic ECNL teams, especially their 2009, but I believe they moved to Elite 64.

How great is elite 64 competition? Does elite 64 actually have a future?

Syc 2011 mls next beat coppermine 2011 elite 64 last weekend 3-0. So there's that. That could change as the year goes on. Both great teams.

I would argue that they have surpassed Bethesda as the top club in Maryland for U12 and below. Do you think they will keep growing? who can challenge them as a club? Do you think that they will join MLSNext in the near future?
