I had a mom at my kids school say to me when i asked her; ”If you have 50-60 days left to an SAT exam, you’re pretty much screwed”

My husband is american , im not. Ive never taken the SAT so idk if the mom is being truthful or not

I thought like 3-4 hours a day..

Oh lord, no! Please don't make your kid do 3-4 hours a day of SAT study.

Because of personal reasons she has 2 months. Do you really believe 1 hour a day is enough then? :/

Based on how well I know your kid, I have no idea.

Do a full practice test. Review for weaknesses. Brush up. Do a practice section in each of math and English each week until score stops increasing.

3-4 hours a day for 10 days is no big deal

6hrs a day for 360 weeks.

I send my kid to an onsite program. It doubles as day care while I work.

It really depends on what she is doing and what her score goal is. Seems like enough to me.

My kid is doing a one on one tutor and they meet 4 hours a week plus he has 2-3 hours of homework. This will last a few months. It is complete craziness but he wants to do this because his diagnostic test was insanely low. I am not going to discourage him. Plus it does have some academic value.

My kids did 1 hour of tutoring and 4 hours of work for 10 days.

the two weeks before the exam, since they are just learning tricks to taking the exam, they are not learning any material.

This depends on how long of a time frame. The recommended, spaced out pace is 1 hour a day over several months. I think 3-4 months. But if you're under a tighter timeline, you might need to up the ante.

The time dedicated also depends on where you're starting from and where you're hoping to go. Which is why it's important to get a base line. I think they say on average, kids can only expected to improve by 200-300 points max. So if your kid's baseline is at 1000, it's unrealistic to set a goal of 1400. But maybe 1200 can be strived for and accomplished.

5 hours a day? 3?

And some say 12 weeks? 8 weeks?
