Many of our favorites have been named. In DC we also like the Palisades children’s area.

I'm in MoCo but I agree Wheaton has a great children's section, as does Silver Spring.

MLK for sure, but other great children's sections in DC include: Cleveland Park, Woodridge, Mt. Pleasant.

Also, while small, the Southwest library has a nice children's section that is often very quiet, and the building is really cool.

I know you are joking, but this is what we wound up doing. Too many old fun books purged by the system and replaced with insipid new ones. We buy by the boxload from library sales and thrift stores.

If yours isn't great, I don't think you need to look for the "best" - most of them are pretty good. We go to Mt. Pleasant and I would say it's great (though it's not as good as MLK so I wouldn't call it the best).

My personal library. All else is too unsophisticated for my little prince.

MLK is great and since you have to be accompanied by a child, you won’t find adults milling around. I also love the Palisades kids section.
