This. I did it before a wedding earlier this summer. This is what I did:
Up at 6am and breakfast: coffee (I typically don’t eat breakfast anyway)
Snack 10:30am: handful of almonds or trail mix
Lunch 12:30pm: I did what I called “tiny lunch” which was either another handful of almonds or a very small portion of whatever I would normally eat (usually leftover dinner from the night before).
Dinner 6pm: smaller side of normal dinner portion, and only one helping. No dessert.
I found that the best way to loose weight is to eat less. It was hard the first week or so, so my goal was eating small amounts to avoid feeling hungry, not necessarily eating until I felt full. But then your body gets used to eating less so you feel full faster.
Oh, I also cut down on the amount of alcohol I drank. Didn’t eliminate entirely, just became really strict about having only two glasses of wine in one evening, and only drinking on the weekend.
It’s been three months and I’ve maintained the weight I’ve lost.
