Honestly, they're both very good. I would give Pitt the edge for internships during the school year, but I think they both place kids really well for summer internships. Your child's preference should help you make the call.

I think the only real differences between the two is location and size of school. Both should offer similar opportunities and outcomes.

Career outcomes are SIGNIFICANTLY more dependent on the individual's ability, ambition, passion, ability to work well with others, etc. than on where they go to college. Take a look at these lists of where the leadership teams for various companies studied, then choose which college to attend based on other factors that matter to you. As others have said, the biggest difference between Pitt and Penn State is location.

The schools are very similar academically. It is the rural versus urban settings that is going to provide such a different experience.

The undergraduate business schools are excellent at both Penn State and Pitt.

Go visit. Both are great schools. I'd pick Pitt over Penn State but that's because Pitt is a family school for us. Pitt is very much more of a city school. Penn State probably as a nicer traditional campus.

Does anyone have any insights into Pitt Vs Penn State for student interested in business? DS is reading through Fiske to understand the differences but any guidance would be appreciated. We have recently moved to the US and are not very conversant with colleges here.
