HRT helped me lose weight. I'm on the Combipatch, FYI. I'm not sure if the weight loss is actually from the HRT, or is indirectly related because once I got on HRT my sleep DRAMATICALLY improved and I finally had the energy to exercise, eat well, and just take better care of myself. It has been pretty life-changing for me.

BC did not. I actually gained a lot of weight when I was in it. HRT did help, though.

Not only has taking progesterone made me gain weight and look seriously bloated, but it has not helped much with any of my peri symptoms.

I’ve always been a “hormonal” person - PMS etc. The best decision I made at age 50 was to start a health journey of eating good food, lifting heavy weights and prioritizing sleep. I’m down 30 and menopause symptoms have been minimal.

No, I gain 10 lbs each time I start BCP. However, it has made all of my peri symptoms disappear.

BC typically makes you gain weight.

As women age, you need to dramatically change your diet and exercise to lose weight. It’s just not as easy as it was when we were young.

It helped my figure but I didn't lose weight. My weight shifted back to my hips and legs from my stomach and my boobs got slightly bigger so I look more feminine than before. But I am a normal BMI so I still don't have that matronly huge boob look.

It helped my sore boobs, it did not help me lose weight or help me sleep better. I tried a few different pills with different progestins and they made me angry or exhausted or an insomniac. I had insomnia before the BC pill.

Real HRT did help me lose weight though, but only after I added a tiny bit of testosterone. I moved to HRT after trying different BCP for two months each.

Am considering going on it as have put on weight and boobs grown and super sore since starting peri. Has anyone else tried it for peri and did it help or hurt these symptoms?
